Wow! This weekend we went to Nelson Paintball field in Green Leaf, Wisconsin and just dominated! There weren't as many teams as we had hoped. I think the event was a little over hyped on PB Nation. None the less, we all had a great time beating up on people.
Our scenario team headed out to Splat Tag field in Hudson, Wisconsin for some heavy duty woodsball. Their event had a great turnout and everyone had an awesome time there too. Splat Tag is a great field and a nice facility for story line scenario events!
I'll try to post some pics in my next post.

September Paintball Play - Going Crazy with Welts!
We are up and playing again. It seems like every weekend now we have something scheduled to play some paintball events around the state. With last weekends Big Game scenario event and this weekends Empire Strikes Forward Scenario we will be beat up and welted for a while. We have a 3 man tournament team heading over to Jungle Falls for the 3-man trophy dash also.
Last weekends Big Game Paintball Scenario event was a blast. over 600 people were climbing through the woods in search of shooting each other for the coveted "I'm Not the Noob" trophy. I got to try out my newly modified Tippmann X7 - HK cloned assault weapon. All went well but I still can't get used to night time play. It was overcast and with no moon out, my rundown night vision goggles just aren't cutting it anymore. The two day scenario event went off well and I shoot through 2 cases of paintballs(at $80 a case for crap paint!) Hit Green had 11 team members appear and put on a great team partnership. Our Blue side beat the opposing scenarios Red side to take home the trophy.
Look for a real/better website for us soon. This blog is OK but we need to have a more steady contact site with a team application and a member area for logging in. IDK when that will happen, not for a while anyways during this busy paintball season. I'm sure come November or December paintball play will taper off but them the family commitments will take over. Perhaps January will provide me with time to put together a real team website. Well, until then...

Paintball Events of the Summer
We have been very busy the last two weeks playing paintball events and practicing paintball drills. With most of the major events of the Summer behind us now, we are looking to make improvements to our team and our playing style.
The number one problem we are having is getting people organized. (Thats probably not a shock to anyone) When your trying to organize people from such a spread out area it's very challenging. Phone calls, emails and any form of contact you can employ just doesn't seem to always cut it. I have created a list for people to follow including:
Our second biggest problem is deciding AND agreeing on which type of events to play. It's always a toss up between scenario type events and tournament/airball type events. Some of our guys never want to come out of camo and some prefer to run around in bright colored jerseys. We always try to balance out the amount of each event but, you can't make everyone happy all the time right?
Third on the list would be to resolve the expectations of sponsorship. For some reason people think we should have some type of sponsor that is going to pay our way 100% including field fee's, travel expenses, equipment expense and paintballs. It ain't going to happen! The people that are saying this tend to be the members who put the least amount into the organization. If someone wants to step up and create ways to add value to our team, I am open to it.
Well, besides all of these rants and raves, we have been very much enjoying our Summer of playing together as a team. We have grown not only in number this season but also as players. As we approach the Fall paintball season, I hope to improve and continue to have this much fun.

Paintball Scenarios or Tournaments
Our team maybe open source but our largest internal argument is always what to sign up for. Tournaments or Scenario events. With out paintball team/group taking any type of player, we are well equipped to attend both.
Most tournaments are only 3 or 5 man events and when we have 15 to 20 people who want to play each event, we end up playing against each other at most tournaments. Scenario events allow us to all play together and work together as a team.
As we continue to grow, we seem to get more of both type of players. We often offer the hardcore tournament player the opportunity to go off and play tournaments as they please. We do however encourage them to come play the scenarios as well to get the whole team together.
This weekend is the Paintball Extravaganza at Commando Paintball Field in Abrams Wisconsin. Its a huge BYOP scenario event and is a very affordable opportunity for our whole team to join in and play some paintball.
Last weekend we attended the 5-man trophy dash at Jungle Falls paintball field and had 3 teams on the roster. Several other teams there also represented with more than one team. Although it was a good time, we would have liked to be able to keep our teams from having to play each other.
One of our teams took second place and another fourth. The second place team was made up of entirely woodsballers with gun that looked more milsim than tournament. Everyone had fun and we will be doing it all over again soon I'm sure!!

Paintball Extravaganza event August 3rd
For a second year in a row Hit Green will be in full attendance at Commando paintball field's "Paintball Extravaganza"! Last years event was a total blast. We had all 7 team members there but expect about 20 this year. Our team has been growing by leaps and bounds!
The Paintball Extravaganza is all about having fun and Commando paintball field always keeps it affordable and interesting. It's a $35 entry fee and they allow BYOP! The price even includes all day air. They have a bunch of new field modifications from last year including a new three story castle and some new foxholes/trenches.
Last year they let us camp out on a near by lot of grass and saved us lots of cash by avoiding campground fees and hotel stays. We are driving up Chester's parents RV. Money Mark also has a Pop-up camper we are pulling up too. Several others are bringing their own tents and camping gear. Sounds like we will be making a weekend out of it!
My Tippmann X7 is done and awaiting a heavy scenario test session! This should be a good chance to test it out. I'll post pics and description of it in a later post. Several of the guys on the team now are shooting an A5 or X7 for scenario/woodsball play.

About Hit Green Paintball Team
We are the Hit Green Paintball Team from Central USA. We play mostly woodsball but also play a tournament at least once a month to keep us limber =) We mostly seek out large scenario events and try to recruit others to join us. We have players all over the United States, some in Canada and a few in Mexico. Everyone with a good attitude and respect for others is invited to join our team.
Our concept is simply 'Open Source'. With that said, we are always seeking people passionate about paintball and want to contribute to the sport by joining our team. We try to make a positive impact and help keep paintball a well thought of sport. So many news stories emerge from all over the country about people abusing paintball and committing vandalism with paintball equipment. We are trying to completely counter that with education and an alliance of mature minded players. Please help promote this sport as a great way for people to have fun and get exercise.
If your interested in joining our team we would be interested in hearing from you. Signing up is free and a great way to meet other paintball players. We encourage each player to get involved at their local fields by helping out and becoming well know in their area as a leader in promoting paintball as a positive sport. Community involvement is the key to maintaining this sport on the up and up.
Several team members are looking for more players in their area of the country to join them in playing tournaments and scenarios. Several other areas have groups large enough to form a sub team. We encourage this and help organize these teams. When we all get together at larger events we can all play together then.
Requirements to join mostly include a positive attitude and an oath to uphold the image of paintball. We also encourage everyone to have their own equipment and transportation of some sort. We do however have a few people that just rent when they come out to the field and several others who aren't old enough to drive yet. Thats fine with us as long as your a mature minded person.

Paintball Tournaments This Summer
We are still scheduling events to attend this Summer. Ya, Summer is almost half over yet we are still searching for events. As we add people to the team, they want to play events in their areas. Several new players are more of a "tournament only" type players and we will be accommodating that. Most want more affordable events to play and get to know the other new players they will be playing with.
Last months "Dogs of War" 24 hour scenario event at Challenge Park Extreme went very well. 24 of Hit Greens' players showed up and we all had a blast. Several players now have night vision and we were able to play after dark taking many of the objectives for the team. Each event we goto like this seems to show how much more organized we are getting. The event overall, didn't have as good of a turnout as I had expected, but we all still had a great time.
Last weekends 5-Man trophy dash at Stalker Paintball Field in Lyndon Station(by Wis Dells), Wisconsin was a great time too. Not a huge turnout there either but still a great time. Their field is better than most fields that host large sanctioned events. Stalker is an awesome field with huge Ultimate Air bunkers. And for a team of Football player sized guys, its heaven sent. There prices are fair and the staff is excellent. No we aren't sponsored by them, just really impressed with the place =) We will be attending a lot more events there in the future. It's a bit of a drive for us but well worth it.
